Our renowned research chair is currently establishing a new research unit about AI for Health. To support our research and technology transfer projects, we are looking for motivated student assistants (m/f/d) with a strong interest in app development in the healthcare domain. If you enjoy building modern mobile apps and creating user-centered solutions for health-related applications, we look forward to receiving your application.

Limited torecurring every 3 months (possibly with a longer term later)

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and improve mobile apps and prototypes in the context of health-related research projects
  • Build modern frontends using React Native / Expo
  • Implement UI with Tailwind (e.g., NativeWind) and component-based design systems
  • Develop on-device data layers (e.g., SQLite, Postgres)
  • Connect and integrate APIs/backends (e.g., REST, GraphQL, authentication flows)
  • Implement app features such as forms, dashboards, visualizations, and onboarding flows
  • Support testing, documentation, and code quality (e.g., unit/E2E tests, clean code, CI)
  • Contribute to health-related features such as data import, sensor/device integration, and privacy/consent flows

Your profile

  • First experience in app development (e.g., React Native, Expo, or React)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Interest in clean UI/UX and structured frontend engineering
  • Ideally, experience with tools such as: Expo Router, React Navigation, Tailwind / NativeWind, State management (e.g., Zustand, Redux, React Query), API integration and authentication (e.g., JWT, OAuth)
  • Team spirit, initiative, and willingness to learn new topics quickly
  • Interest in building digital solutions in the healthcare domain
