About Us
The Chair of Mobile and Distributed Systems looks back on a long history at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. It has written or edited 18 books, written more than 200 journal, book and conference contributions and organized or participated in the program committee of more than 140 international conferences, including IFIP, ACM, IEEE, GI, VDE and ITG.
The chair is concerned with applications and services for mobile and networked communication, with the following focal points:
- Quantum Computing, Quantum Annealing, Quantum Machine Learning
- Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning
- Machine Learning for health-based applications
In the past, we have also worked on:
- 3D Computer Vision, Shape Reconstruction, Construction Tree Generation
- Robustness and Uncertainty in Distributed and Autonomous Systems
- Location-Based Services, Ubiquitous Computing and Indoor Navigation
In these areas, research projects are carried out by the state and federal government as well as in cooperation with industry. In recent years, more than 17 million euros in third-party funding has been raised and more than 40 employees have been awarded doctorates.
